Images inspired by the dreamy but melancholy tone of the song PPP by Beach House.
As a commuter, I was inspired by the loss of time and altered motion during travel. These photos were taken at various times and locations as I commuted by train from the Central Valley to Santa Clara County.
This photo was a way to challenge myself of making an environment depict an emotion. In this case a sense of caution, vigilence, and alertness.
Photos from this series were a response to a hyperfixated view to the point of estrangement from the recognizable. This is partially influenced by my own homebody nature and the COVID 19 pandemic.
In this project, I focus on what a space can reveal about a person, without that person being present in the photograph. This could reveal anything from interests & hobbies, lifestyle, and culture to personal aesthetics and living arrangement.
